Email being used error message (Heads up!)

If you’re using version 2.0, the error message you're seeing is shown in the top section of this article

If you’re on version 1.9.4.1 or earlier, we recommend updating to the latest version. If updating isn’t possible right now, the error message you're seeing is shown in the bottom section of this article👇

Each E-Signature user on your site must use a unique email address in their E-Signature settings.

If you're seeing this error, another user on your site is already using the email address you're trying.

Note that these are separate from WordPress account settings — this refers to the email entered on the WP E-Signature settings page.

To fix this, try these steps:

  1. Have each E-Signature user log in and visit E-Signature > Settings to check which one has your desired email
  2. Once found, that user should save a different email address to free it up
  3. Then, you can save your settings with your desired email address
