WP E-Signature Google reCAPTCHA Add-on
WP E-Signature’s Google reCAPTCHA add-on is an effective security solution that protects your WP E-Signature contracts from spam entries while letting real signers pass through with ease.
Signers are required to confirm that they are not a robot before the contract can be signed.
It’s easy for real people and real hard for bots.
Step 1. Set up Google reCAPTCHA Add-on
First, you need to register your site with Google reCAPTCHA services.
WP E-Signature currently only supports Google reCAPTCHA Version 3.

- Click here to begin registering your site
- Fill in a label
- Select reCAPTCHA v3
- Input your domain name
- Accept Terms of Service
Once you submit the required information, you will be given a site key and a secret key. Save them to use in step 3.
Step 2. Enable Google reCAPTCHA
Visit E-Signature > Add-ons, find Google reCAPTCHA > Enable.
Step 3. Configure settings
Next, you will need to input your site key and secret key into the following settings of WP E-Signature.
If you’re on version 1.9.4.1 or earlier, we recommend updating to the latest version. If updating isn’t possible right now, you can find alternative instructions at the bottom section of this page.
Visit E-Signature > Add-ons > Third Party Permissions, and select Google reCAPTCHA.
Then, input your site key and secret key, and save the settings.

Enable Google reCAPTCHA for contracts
To enable Google reCAPTCHA for all future documents, select "Enable reCAPTCHA for all document signing pages" in the reCAPTCHA settings.
Please note, this will auto-enable Google reCAPTCHA for documents created after this point, and to add it to documents that are already published, you must edit each one and enable it in the document's settings.
