The Audit Signature ID # is a tamper-resistant feature of the WordPress eSignature Audit Trail. The audit trail and event log records timezone-relevant timestamps, signer activity and event logs, user IP address, legal name, and email address.

Once a document is closed (all signatory parties have added their electronic signatures), an Audit Signature ID # is generated in the footer of the document. This serial number is built from the document events and audit trail data for that specific document. All parties also receive an email containing the Audit Signature ID # in the body.

If any event data is changed in the database, the serial number updates immediately. If the serial number in the footer of the completed document does not match the one sent in the original emails, this indicates possible tampering.
